PIZZA

So, lets talk about pizza!
it is the perfect food, it's what i get when im indecisive, when im shitfaced, when i am out with friends...pizza is huge!
we eat it a lot in Boston, because of the italians. Chicago pizza is a joke, and NY pizza is over done! for back to basics, come to Boston.

growing up in a school where names like tangnalia, marani, martinelli, ferraro, and Di Prisco, pizza is HUGE, and not the pan shit that the american pizza scene has reverted to, i mean a real aged crust, EVOO, whole milk mozzerella, and juicy tomato pie, without any of the following would really not be a pie!
im talking about good brick oven pizza. which is fed by hard woods, like oak, apple, and New England pine. the ovens are older than the staff put together, and they nuke them suckers in 3 minutes flat!

The undisputed king of pizza has always been Pizzaria Regina. almost 85 years has earned them the title. but some serious new kids have emerged with a serious component of competition, and they are Upper Crust pizza.
Well aged dough, with a fresh and juicy sauce and the most buttery and rich mozzerella, no wonder these pies are gaining popularity.
but for us poorer people, like this guy who buys $4 bottles of cheapo wine at the Rite-Aid, good pizza is something that doesnt come cheap.

The latter restaurants are Great! they are pizza, they do nothing but make good pizza, but where do the college kids who are living on quarters and dimes go for that taste of childhood?

2 places,

Haymarket Pizza

one of the undisputed best bargain shops in town, my friends who lived off cheap produce, cheese, wines, and spices from the halal vendors would often save thier pennies for these pies!
a full- days meals can be purchased in a 5 yard radius for under $10 for the day. definitely a real bargain. the slices are bigger than your head. i know mom must've said over and over, "don't eat anything bigger than your head" well for $1.25 a slice, you can....oh you can!!!

Mikes Food & Spirits

Some of the Cheapest Beers around, $3, a HUGE selection of Italian home cooking. Handmade like mom used to make...well my mom made jerk chicken too, but thats another article.
Come in, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for Buy one, get one free pizzas! for $6 each me and 4 friends ate, drank, and we so merry! drink the bottled beers because the beers on tap are kinda pricey, but the bar is cheaper than the nightclubs any day! and come during the summer the restaurants open thier wondows and litterally spill out under the twinkling christmas lighted trees!

damn, now i want nothing more than pizza, and beer and a side of cheesecake. no razzle, no dazzle. no uptight foodies...just me and a good slice!
